Why this puja?
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, remover of obstacles. Families install an idol at home for 1.5, 5, 7, or 11 days, worship it daily, and then immerse it in water (visarjan).

Install the idol and invoke life-force into it with mantras.

Immerse the idol in water at the end of the festival with a procession.
