Why this puja?
Griha Pravesh purifies a new home's energy and seeks blessings from Vastu Purush (the deity of the dwelling) before you begin living there. It's traditionally done before or shortly after moving in, on an auspicious date.
Samagri (What You'll Need)
- Kalash with coconut1

Step-by-Step Guide

Choose an auspicious date
Consult a panchang or priest for a Shubh Muhurat, ideally avoiding inauspicious periods.

Clean the home
Thoroughly clean the house, especially the entrance, before the ritual begins.

Kalash Sthapana
Place the kalash at the entrance and invoke the presiding deities.

Havan (fire ritual)
Perform havan in the main living area, offering samagri while chanting mantras.

Boil milk to overflow
Boil milk on the kitchen stove and let it overflow, symbolizing abundance, before cooking anything else.
